Location
Cahors is an intimate but vibrant city of 20,000 inhabitants. It is located within a loop of the river Lot and therefore almost surrounded by water. The city owes much of its charm to its rich history dating back to the middle-ages. Its medieval and renaissance architecture gives the city a remarkable character and a beauty.
Le Franc Parler is situated in the historic city-centre, just a step from the Cathedral Square which is also the place for the lively market, with many interesting shops and cafés to explore in the adjoining narrow lanes.
Yet this historic gem is only one hour north of Toulouse ; and right in the heart of a Natural Park, close to the Valley of the Dordogne.
Easy access
Cahors is easily accessible by car with good connections from Toulouse, Bordeaux and Paris.
By train : 8 direct trains per day from Paris, 12 direct from Toulouse
By plane : direct flights to Toulouse from London, Hamburg, Munich, Brussels, Amsterdam, Milan, Rome, Madrid…
Classes
The school is open all year long. On every Monday morning a new course begins - the minimum course is for five days, but you can choose to stay for longer and the course will be adapted to suit your needs and to avoid repetition.
The intensive courses allow you to improve your knowledge and your confidence in French. The lessons will address the essential linguistic tools, but with a particular emphasis on oral communication.
Your tutor will be Pascale – a graduate of French language, French literature and French as a foreign language with more than 13 years of teaching experience. She will accompany you in your progress in French and your discovery of France, its history and culture
Excursions
To enhance your experience, two afternoons are scheduled each week where you can discover the region and its culture with your tutor and hopefully put into practice some of what you have learnt.
These excursions are included in the price of the course
Lunch
Can be taken each day with your tutor in a small local restaurant begin to relax and unwind, but without forgetting your French !
Most afternoons and evenings you are free for you to explore, shop, or even do some more private studying !
A typical weekly schedule
On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 09:00 - 12:30 lessons with a break for coffee.
Optional lunch with your tutor
Two afternoon excursions until around 17:00
Wednesday 09:00 - 10:30 lessons, 10:30 - 12:00 visit of the market of Cahors (practice your French while shopping !).
If you would like to, there is also the possibility to dine together with Pascale’s family one or two evenings a week.

Accommodation
Within three minutes from the school there is a charming 14th century building offering bed and breakfast with a view onto the garden; possibility of using the kitchen, lounge TV and the laundry service.
Nearby you can rent of cycles an ideal way to discover the city and the small villages all around !
Other options include various local hotels and also for those who want a total French immersion the possibility to stay with a French family.
Prices lists
- One week of lessons (small group max. 6 people ): 530 € equivalent to fifteen hours of teaching and at least 12 hours of informal discussion with your tutor (the cost of lunches and the entrance fees to excursion sites are not included).
- For each additional week : 510 €
- One week of private tuition : 855 €
